Card = MSI N660 TF/OC 2gb

BOARD = ASROCK Z77 Extreme4

I want to SLI i get almost decent FPS but i have to turn off some features to get there, and at 200$ for another card its better than buying a 780 or something for me. I just wont do that.

So my board says this on newegg

"PCI Express 3.0 x16
2 (x16/0 or x8/x8)"

does that mean i have to run two cards as x8/x8 or one card as x16 with other one off?

A note about Motherboards
For 2-way SLI,motherboards either support CrossFire at dual x16,dual x8 or x16x4 speeds.
The first will give you the best performance.
Dual x8 is also good and performs on par with dual x16 in most games.

is why im curious. Thanks!

It means that when two cards are active, the one lane downsizes to X8, so both run on X8. With one card, the primary PCI Express slot functions at X16. SLI will still work fine though.
