Hey guys, I just replaced my old CPU with FX-8350 and installed the stock cooler that came with it. Everything seems to be working ok so far. But when I played a few minutes of more demanding games like Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3, the core temperature rises to 61 and eventually 62. The temperature sort of just stays there and goes back and forth between 61 and 62.

I read somewhere that the max safe temperature for FX-8350 is 61, so I was wondering whether my CPU will be damaged if I play long periods of games(few hours) that keep my core temperature at 62 degrees. My computer case is only 17.5cm wide, so I don't have much options for replacing my stock cooler either. I'm not overclocking at all by the way.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
if it will fit, get this. if not, Cooler Master GeminII M4 . and 62c will not harm your cpu, but it might age a little faster.

FX-8350 runs hot, that's normal. Keep in mind, most apps are only using 4 cores. 8 cores pinned will make it much hotter.

I used the H100 and I have it overclocked to 4.8 currently. Hits 55 in games, 65 on Prime95.

I agree with Danbuscus25... The best cooler for the money out there is the Hyper 212 EVO... I have it right now on my 8350 and it is overclocked to 4.5GHz... It never goes past 55'c in gaming... Under Blend in P95 It goes up to 61'c but never over...
