Safe to buy a GTX 760 now?

I think it's safe. Nobody really knows when Maxwell will be released to the public at least high end cards. Gtx 760 is probably the best preformance to price ratio of any card(considering 270x price skyrocketed). For all I know Maxwell could be released next month, it doesn't change my opinion about 760 now.

maxwell is based on same architecture as Kelper, but way more power efficient.
These first cards are 750 and 750ti. these early iterations would be better suited to small form factor and do not come close to the 760 in gaming. Later iterations of course will. It's up to you to play the waiting game that should not be too long now. I say wait if you can.
