Looking for a $500 Gaming Desktop. Don't require a graphics card 2014

Hello,
Im looking to buy a gaming desktop with a budget of $500. I already have all the accessories I need and a monitor, I was also given a Nvidia GTX 580 and i'm hoping I can create a system that wont hold it back. I don't know a whole lot about this subject so any help would be appreciated.

Would you be able purchase the components and build the PC yourself (it's not as hard as it seems - plenty of tutorials)? It will work out A LOT cheaper than going to a shop and buying one

If you've been given a graphics card, I suppose you *could* always buy a pre-built Dell/HP, etc, and simply put in the graphics card and a new Power Supply. That would be easier to do than building from scratch. Of course, there may still be a few issues here and there....

They will charge a lot of money for that. Would probably be cheaper to do bemused_fred option and buy a dell PC and put the GPU in there.

You can do it within a couple of hours easy. Have a look at some tutorials online. here's one:

You will be able to with Dell, as long as it's all compatible.

You can do it, but it'll void the warranty. And you'll need to double-check the parts are compatible.

I might sound like a total noob here but to be honest I kinda am. Would this case work or is it overkill I just thought that maybe because it looked cool it might be better :/ The guy who is giving me the graphic card is selling it.
