My custom built computer turns itself off at seemingly random times after it has been turned on. Also, when it was working, it was extremely slow as of recently. I have check inside for any loose components and there don't seem to be any. Although it isn't really relevant, I unsuccessfully installed Linux mint 14 recently; it does not appear as an option , just boots straight into windows.
Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Sempron 140
ASUS M4N68T-LE V2.
4GB of Crucial RAM (2x 2GB)
No Graphics Card
600W Alpine PSU
160GB Samsung Hard drive
I'm not sure if I put this in the right category but does anybody know what might be wrong with it?

If it just randomly turns off, without shutting down or anything, it's probably running too hot. If you built this yourself, what thermal paste did you use on the cpu? Try cleaning off the heatsink and cpu with some rubbing alcohol, and put some new paste on.
