Will AMD A10-6800k handle AMD Radeon R9 280x?

Solution

Get the 280x, it will perform great with your 6800k and it will perform even better when you get your FX 8350.. you wont be dissapointed :)

That CPU will be able to handle it yes, it wont bottleneck it.. But the CPU performance isn't all that great so in CPU heavy games like Battlefield 3/4 MP you will get less of an FPS than you would with something like an 8350/4770K

That is exactly the problem. It is a waste of a 280x, because the 280x will not make up for the poor CPU. A common misconception is that if you have a powerful GPU, that it will make up for a poor CPU. This is not true at all. If you get 20 FPS with a 6800k, adding 10 780 ti's in SLI will not get you any further than 20 FPS.

But the 6800K as a CPU alone isn't that bad? It is probably the equivalent to your 4100.. I had a 4100 OC to 4.1Ghz before my 8350 and my 4100 + HD 7770 could play BF3 MP just fine...

The 7850K is FM2+ so he can't get that.. on the FM2 platform he cannot get a better CPU that what he as got now

I don't want to upgrade my cpu quite yet. But I think I'm going to upgrade to FX-8350 or FX-9370 next year.

Go for the 8350 :) The 9370 is just a factory overclocked 8350.. Could you choose a best answer??
