Hi,

In august I built my first computer, full spec:

CPU: i5 4670k
GPU: HIS HD Radeon 7950 boost
MOBO: Gigabyte z87x d3h
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 2133Mhz
PSU: Corsair CX600M
Case: Corsair 650d
HDD: Seagate 1TB

For the last couple of months there have been black lines appearing briefly while I’ve been using Chrome and the desktop (kinda like screen tearing), it’s not very often but still quite annoying. Since it first started happening I’ve upgraded from an Acer 1080p monitor to an ASUS PB278Q (2560x1440) monitor so I’m pretty sure the display isn’t the issue.

In the last couple of days I’ve been playing Rome 2 Total War and multiple times the game has crashed, given me a red screen and white noise for about 10 seconds and then crashed the computer. I know it’s quite a glitchy game but I’ve played Rome 2 for nearly 200 hours since its release and never had any problems of this nature until now.

Finally, sometimes when the computer is on standby I’ll click the mouse or hit the spacebar a couple of times to wake it up and all the fans will spin up but no picture is shown, occasionally the on light on the monitor will switch from red to blue to show that it’s on but I still get no image. Again, this has been the case with the two different monitors.

I’m just wanting to know if anyone has any idea if these issues are likely to all be caused by the GPU (and if so do you think I should RMA it), or could it be a combination of other causes, maybe the PSU?

Sorry for the incredibly long post, I just wanted to be as clear as possible.

I have used the Intel HD graphics and didn't notice any problems, although I only used it for a couple of days and didn't really do any gaming.

Done. I'll see how it goes and get back to you
