Restoring an hp notebook 1000 to factory [HELP]

How would i go about doing this? Please help?

A couple of ways. 1) During srartup hit the F10 key and then select 'Restore Defaults'. 2) Open the case and remove the CMOS (RTC battery) battery CR2032 and leave it out for 10 minutes. Re-install the battery.

That doesn't work, it's a windows xp so i don't think it has a built in hard drive to restore to factory

Upgrade the OS to Win 8 - Win XP is at EOL.
