Hello, this actually involves multiple questions, so please bear with me.

I am looking to upgrade my pre-built computer from years ago with a discrete graphics card to be able to play some games at decent settings (we've gotten used to playing everything at lowest possible settings). My computer's specs are at the end.

I was thinking of getting a 6670, not sure if it will run on my 250W PSU with (I think) 14A on the 12V rail.

I also found out that my power supply has a 20 pin connector that goes into a 24 pin connector on the motherboard. There's also another 4 pins that plugs in beside the CPU.

I'm not sure if putting in a graphics card would be too much for the power supply, especially with only the 20+4 pin connector.

If I can't do the 6670, it would be great if you could give me a recommendation on if I should replace the PSU, different graphics card, etc... at the lowest cost. I am planning to use this for maybe 4 more years if this works out. Also, I live in Canada.

I can almost guarantee that card would shut down your computer. Alone, it uses at max 200W under load which only leaves 50W for the rest of the PC. I'd recommend at least a 450W PSU just to give you a little headroom.

Hmm, I was also looking at the 6570 and 6450. Are those viable options? And does the 20 pin connector affect anything?

they bots use between 175-200W while under load. Really, don't expect to play anything at decent settings using that power supply. Not with a modern card at least. When you say decent, I'm imagining medium to high settings which would take a newer card and probably a 500W PSU.

Are you sure? The graphs Im looking at from TechPowerUp say that the 6450 consumes 30W max

I actually tried the 6450 with passive cooling and its been working for months without a problem. Thanks for the help!
