Hello everyone my name is William

I will just get straight to the point here, I've been trying to overclock my computer and recently I have noticed inconsistent readings using software tools (CPU-Z / OpenHardwareMonitor / Asus AISuite) about my CPU/NB/Bus/HT Link speeds compared to the BIOS.

The frequencies and multipliers all seem to be reported different from what I set them to in the BIOS. I will include a bunch of pictures so everyone can see what I am talking about.

BIOS Pictures
BIOS-1
BIOS-2
BIOS-3

CPU-Z Pictures
CPUZ-1
CPUZ-2
CPUZ-3

Open Hardware Monitor Picture
OHM-1

Asus AI Suite Picture
AI Suite-1

If I missed any information that is needed please do ask for it would very much like to find out what's going on here.

Thanks for everyone's time in advance.

Solution

That's a good indication of the problem. Might need to confirm anything related to those applications is cleared off the HD

Try updating the bios to the latest. I actually have the same issue using the asus p8z68-v le CPUTIN says 1C same with TZ00 TZ01 using HWMonitor. Somebody once told me to go and update my bios version to the latest by looking up my motherboard it didn't do anything but it's worth a try

I would uninstall all of that software, and make sure AMD Overdrive is not installed, delete all the directories.

Than make sure the bios is up to date, make sure the firmware is up to date from the Asus website, make sure you have the latest version of AI Suite and install it again.

Done that, uninstalled everything cleared CMOS and even downloaded everything again and reinstalled it all and still the same readings

I doubt it, there's some kind of software, windows or driver conflict causing the software to read the board incorrectly.

What motherboard is this?

Did you attempt to overclock via software, like the AI Suite?

Windows reports my cpu is at 3.42ghz which is what the BIOS is set at

If everything is working fine after powerfull stress software like prime 95 then dont worry at all.
inconsistent readings are not in bios I gess ?

Ok so I removed everything once again went and made sure everything was gone then went into msconfig and seen that AI nap was running on start up even though it was removed stopped it from running on start up went into safe mode ran cpuz and it was showing the correct readings. I don't no how AI nap was still running without being on my computer but its gone for sure now and everything is working fine.

Big thanks to everyone for the comments and the help
