First time boot, no signal to monitor/TV, 3 beeps

Hello community. I've done some research of my own and went through the "first time boot" troubleshooting forum before posting here and now I don't know what to do now so here I am, scared I may have to spend more money on my first PC build. When powering on, I get a loop of 3 long beeps, and pause for about 1-2 seconds. I've found that this may be a problem with my RAM but when inserting one stick to the farthest slot, it goes through this beep loop. When I put a stick of RAM into the closest slot to the CPU, it boots in silence. When I put them both together, it goes through the beep loop. My guess is that something is wrong with the sockets on the MOBO, but I'm hoping I don't have to resort to replacing my MOBO. Is there anything I can do? My computer spec's are below;

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory: HyperX 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 PC3-12800 CL9 DIMM Desktop Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: EVGA 02G-P4-3757-KR GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 FTW
Case: NZXT H230 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Thank you.

Cleaning the sockets did make a difference at least! Now when I insert both sockets I get the 3 beep loop. Interesting. So does this mean there's possibly something wrong with the RAM sticks? Before it would be silent with both RAM sticks in, now it beep loops.

EDIT: ok and now, inserting a stick into the socket nearest to the CPU and inserting both sticks remains silent again..
