Boot drive some times disappears/unrecognised, how do I fix it?

Hi Guys,

Some times when I turn my PC on it cant find the boot drive. It a 60gb OCZ vertex 2 I believe, it has worked perfectly in the past 2 systems I have used it with but now seems to disappear and reappear on start up sometimes.

I thought it was the motherboard but have bought a new one and I am experiencing the same problems again.

Anyone know why it is being temperamental now?

I have 2 - 90 GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSDs and, in my experience, they are very unreliable. Totally incompatible with a Z87 Haswell chipset.

I'm using the h81 chipset I believe, wasn't aware of compatibility problems! Might buy a new ssd then, can you recommend any ssd's?

Right now the best price/performance SSDs are the Samsung 840 Evos. I have a 128 GB Samsung 840 Pro and I love it. The Pro is a little faster and costs a little more than the Evo, But I feel that it is worth it. The Pro also has a 5 yr. warranty compared to Evo's 3 yr.

Either way, you can't go wrong with a Samsung SSD.
