"Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration while on VPN

Problem:
While logged onto the VPN I use (via wifi) I lose access to my LAN (to my xbox 360 via ethernet cable). I am using windows 7.

How I have it setup:
Computer to Wifi, wifi to VPN, Ethernet to Xbox (by sharing the connection to LAN)
