better to get new gpu or crossfirex?

so i have a radeon hd 7790 1gb, and im wondering if i will get better performance by getting another 7790 and crossfireing them, or just getting a new graphics card that has 2gb of vram? this is for bf4 btw so all the vram i have currently is getting used

I gave up on 2 VC's long ago. The rewards vs cost (money, temp, power, etc.) just don't make it worth it. Go for a good single card. You should be able to get a 660 for your budget if you shop carefully.

With only 1 gb of ram you need to get a new card. I had 2 6870s and with the newer games I had more processing power than I could use because the cards did not have enough ram to load the level so the fps would drop really bad.

my budget is probably around 150-180 bucks. i have a 650 watt supply, and 1920x1080 resolution. thanks for the help guys
