EVGA 750ti FTW GPU question

This is the GPU I plan on putting in my new build. I am hooking this up to a VGA monitor so will need to use the DVI to VGA connector that come with the card. However I will need to buy a DVI cable. why do you need to buy a dvi cable? are you not going to use the VGA cable that comes with your monitor... and then use the VGA to DVI adaptor? Not sure what you are trying to do... Are you thinking of putting the adaptor on the monitor and then using a dvi cable to the card? Normally you just use your VGA cable and use the vga to dvi adaptor on the card....

Yes I was thinking that I needed to use the adaptor on the monitor side and would need to buy a DVI cable just as you said... Thanks for setting me straight.
