I have 2 wifi connections , i want to install a virtual machine using 1 and the host using the other, is there any way to do this without it interfering with my host machine?
When you set up networking for the VM just choose the wireless NIC you want it to use. You do this in the VM settings, not the guest OS.
but i want to use one connection on my host for browsing etc. and one on the virtual machine for downloads/streaming etc. i dont want to use the same connection for both. Is it possible to just install the wifi adapter drivers on the virtual machine? and have it appear on the host not working (without the drivers)

Then set the metrics manually on each of the host's NICs. Give the one you want the host to use a lower metric than the one you want the guest to use. The guest OS never sees the hardware in the host, only a generic NIC that you've attached to the host via the VM settings.
