Hello,
I was just wondering how big of a difference in performance I might see by swapping out motherboards.
I will post my set up below, but first, the MOBOs:
Current: ASROCK 880 GMH
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157197
Looking to upgrade to: ASUS Crosshair V Formula 990FX
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Crosshair-Formula-Z-990FX-Motherboard/dp/B00906DHLE/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1394317154&sr=1-11&keywords=motherboard+990
Setup is:
FX8150 CPU
MOBO listed above
500 GB Hitachi HDD
7950 XFX Double D
Seasonic 620W PSU

Have been noticing some slow load up of games (I realize this is an HDD problem). I would like to fix that, but I do not want to go and purchase a 100+ dollar SSD or Hybrid Drive just to have my MOBO sucking my performance down.

Any educated response is appreciated!
Thank You!

with motherboard chipsets there not much changing from the 800 to 990x. the 990x may give you built in usb 3.0 support but on hard drive speed it going to be the same. what will help your pc is ram. if your running with 4g of ram up the ram to 8g.
