This would be my first gaming pc and I would like to know if it is a decent build and if I could improve anywhere along these lines.

Looks good. The only suggestion I have is you could look for a cheaper case and use the savings to upgrade to a 4gb 770 or a 780. Vram usage is hitting 1.7 in games like SKyrim and Tomb Raider so having 3 or 4gb will likely serve you better in the future

DO NOT BUY THE 500W. They recommend 750W for it. But 650 will do just fine. Everything else looks fine but get 650W at least. That will work.

Buy a (minimum of a) 600 watt to be safe. Also, I would get low profile ram to help give you less trouble with heat sinks.
