how to install OS HDD from SSD

i just bought MSI GP70. it come with windows 8 and can be update free 8.1 but now i want to replace my DVD to SSD. then i want to install OS to SSD and HDD want to use a storage.

but how can i install OS in SSD. i don't have any OS CD/DVD. in HDD have pre install OS/ or recovery something else. i attached my HDD screenshot ...

3 possibilities
1. Clone your HDD to your SSD, replace the HDD with the SSD and use the HDD for storage by buying a 2nd HDD caddy which goes in place of your Optical drive. Disadvantage - no optical drive unless you buy an external one
2. Clone HDD to SSD and use HDD in a caddy as external storage - disadvantage -clumsy setup having to rely on HDD connected to USB port.
3. Instead of SSD, clone HDD to Hybrid Drive (SSHD) and have the best of both worlds, a fast SSD cache and plenty of space on one drive. (Not quite as fast as pure SSD but very fast boot times and Program launch).

Before you remove your DVD, look under your Programs. Most OEM computers have an option to make a restore medium. It usually starts nagging you to do this from the first boot. See if it allows you take make the restore to a USB drive. If not, you should still be able to make the DVD and image it over to a USB drive. Once this is done, you should be able to swap out the DVD with the SSD and boot from the USB.

However this should have been the first question. Are you sure that you can swap out the DVD with an SSD? The bay will be a drastically different size. How are you going to mount it in there? Do you have some sort of bay adapter?

you mean something like Acronis True Image 2014... then just image and restore it direct SSD

yes that good idea. i saw have option for BurnRecovery but not check yet for USB. i will check..
