GPU Upgrade or new system?

Hi everyone.
So my current system looks like this:

Asus p8p67 Pro MOBO
i7 2600K CPU
Gigabyte gtx670 GPU
Samsung 1TB F3 Spinpoint HD
Intel 520 120GB SSD
Sony DVD RW
8 GB Kit GSkill DDR3 1600 Ripjaws
Antec TP750 PSU
Windows 7 64 Home Premium
Coolermaster CM690 II Case

And I have a 1080p 120hz screen, so I'm really looking to upgrade to achieve that 120fps. The system in it's current form could get 120 on more 'console' port style games (dead space, mass effect, etc) But never really hit anything close to that on titles optimised for PC gaming. I'd really like to get a stable 120fps at very high /ultra settings on games coming out over the next few years as well as current games. Am I dreaming?

I'm thinking about changing the current GPU setup to SLI 780 Ti. The price of those plus a PSU is more or less my budget (roughly $2000 AUD) I'm thinking I'll have to change the PSU to an 850W (at least yeah?).

The main thing I'm questioning is should I be changing out the Mobo and CPU to current gen? Or is there not really any value in upgrading those from what I have?

Any thoughts, feedback, opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

well, I think it's more worthwhile upgrading.

And 120Hz is 60fps, and 60Hz is 30fps, so getting 120fps is unnoticeable compared to 70.

850W is sufficient for GTX 780Ti SLI, But I would save that money and just get two GTX 780's, as they are much cheaper now and perform close but not exact, but much better value for the cost.

Thanks for the quick replies

@ unknownofprob "And 120Hz is 60fps, and 60Hz is 30fps, so getting 120fps is unnoticeable compared to 70." Please explain further. Sorry. I'm not claiming to be an expert of any kind... When I 1st purchased the screen I read multiple forums where people spoke about "no perceivable difference in anything over 60hz / 60fps etc etc" Anyhow I took the plunge and got one :) And my 2 cents on the subject would be that there IS a big difference. Again... not an expert... just saying to me the difference between 60 and 120 is big enough to warrant aiming for a stable 120. So nice and smooth... almost 3D looking at times :)

@ ak47jar3d Yes indeed! I thought of this earlier in the year before contemplating this upgrade. But you can't get the darned things retail anymore. Pretty scarce 2nd hand too. And I'm not sure I'd really trust a 2nd hand one anyhow.

60Hz can only refresh the screen at a rate of 30fps, 60Hz is not 60fps, as much as everyone says is it, it isn't.

What? Since when?

That only really applies if you are running a Stereoscopic 3D setup, where you have to display one frame for each eye, and you need a 120Hz display to show 60FPS in Steroscopic 3D mode. For normal operation, a 60Hz display will show up to 60FPS.
