Hi, i'm thinking about OCing my GTX 780 ti but im afraid that it will get too hot.

It looks exactly like this: http://cdn5.thinkcomputers.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-780-Ti1.jpg

Do you think i should have chosen another model for overclocking? Will this model get very hot compared to, lets say the 3x windforce cooler?

It already gets up to 83C while not overcloked which i consider quite a lot, even though that's the temp it should be at. (that's what i read) Correct me if im wrong.

Anyways, is it safe to OC this model? How much should i OC it? And how to cool it better? (more fan speed obviously, but anything else?)

Solution
You could always look into the Kraken G10 + AIO cooler. Ive had great results from it: 30% more speed through over clocks but still much lower temps.

Thats almost too hot... before overclocking, can you chow a picture of your fan curve? If your willing to deal with more noise from the fans you should be fine to overclock.

How do you check fan curve and edit it? Would be nice to know

Install MSI afterburner.

Guide on setting the fan curve in afterburner:

the kraken g10 is a nice idea but it doesn't properly address vrm temps.

manually adjust the fan curve in msi afterburner to start at 70% and let it rise up to 100% at 90c. the only real option would be to get an ekwb water block but the whole setup with a 240mm rad and pump is going to cost about $350 at least.
