Edit: (This is no longer the issue) So I was playing a game called Clash of Clans using the Bluestack emulator (legal, free) which worked fine on my old laptop, but not on my new laptop. The AMD Display Driver crashes and recovers after I start it, and then the entire BlueStack freezes in black.

Windows 8.1
HP Pavilion 17 TS Notebook PC (x64)
Processor: from CMD: AMD64 Family 21 Model 19 Stepping 1 AuthenticAMD ~2100 Mhz
from Compuer System: AMD A8-5550M APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics 2.10 Ghz.

I tried to TdrDElay to 8 seconds instead of 2 seconds trick, didn't work. Nor did reinstalling Clash of Clans and the Bluestacks.

edit: (Issue 2) I installed latest AMD driver and updated Windows, now there's a different error: application hd-frontend.exe is being blocked from accessing the graphics hardware.

(Not a solution, just bumping and posting new info). As I've said, new issue is that I can't get the program hd-frontend.exe (part of Bluestacks) to access the graphics hardware. I've already downloaded latest update, newest drivers, and reinstalled Bluestacks and the app. Here's a section of my DxDiag if it helps with anything. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem except mine started happening after I upgraded to Windows 10. I've taken all the same steps you did to try and resolve the problem but no luck. Any game I run in bluestacks crashes with that error within a few minutes of playing. I'm guessing most other games utilizing graphics hardware are going to fail as well.

Still looking for a solution. From what I've read around the net people are blaming the hardware manufacturers saying they need to update their drivers. However, my computer was working fine until I upgraded Windows so I'm not convinced it's the drivers.
