I am looking for at least 8GB of pretty fast(at least 1600/1866 or faster) RAM for my build. I plan on doing some 2D animation and gaming on this rig and maybe a little video editing.
As of right now these are all of the parts I have:
Intel Core i5-3570k
Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 Power Edition 2GB(msi)
msi Z77A-G45 Motherboard
The motherboard supports up to 32GB of RAM, it has four 240 pin slots and it is dual channel.
I would like to focus on the RAM and HDD/SSD, my budget is $500 at the moment, but I would prefer not to spend it all. If some of my budget is used to buy other parts I need that is fine. I am also not 100% sure if I want a HDD or not, opposed to a SDD. I am aware of hybrid drives and that can be considered a possibility. It depends on how that would fit into my budget. If it is a HDD I think I would be satisfied with around 1TB and maybe 7200RPM, which seems very possible. I just want good parts for the price that would work well with my PC.
