Crossfire vs single card?

Solution

Pretty much this.

Although you *can* get better performance for the same money going Crossfire/SLI, this won't be the case in every game. If you want consistency then go single card.

Plus, when you come to upgrade you can add a second card and they will have dropped in price!

Single expensive card > Cheaper crossfired cards

In MOST cases, there are exceptions.

This is largely because some games don't react well to crossfire and by having one single expensive card it gives you room to improve > crossfire in the future
