I am using a system with core i3-3220 cpu with Gigabyte B75M_d3H Mobo with 1 Sapphire r9-280x gpu on a new CORSAIR VS550 Psu..after using for 5mins on full load the pc is getting shut down randomly...I have tested it in open air also...so no success...somebody help me plz??

Might be new,but i would still test with another psu.

With the next program you can monitor voltages and temps,
hwinfo32
open it,check=V sensors only,click run.
it will give al this info in the window that opens.Look for high temps (=>90c) on the gpu and the voltages need to be,on the + rails,within 5%=for instance |+12V=11.4V<->12.6V. etc. Big spikes like going from 11.6V<->12.3V isn't good either.
Min and max values are given in that window with the sensor data.

thanks vic40... I have checked the voltages....but it is not showing any spikes...under full load it is shutting down after using for 5-10 mins...it is also corrupting the bios...

Checked the temps too?
Checked the "5% thingy" too?

Still try to get another psu,from a friend or...,and check with it.

I am getting 11.08 v-11.12 @ +12v rail during furmark burn in...is that causing the problem??? right?/

That is under the 11.4 that should be the minimum so yes.You should rma the psu.It shouldn't give such low values although you're using a very power hungry gpu,maybe see if you can change it for a better psu.
