I have a Asus RT N66U router which I am successfully using by receiving network via ethernet cable and sending to my equipment, all is working well.
I have to visit remote locations which only have wireless networks (no ethernet ports just a wireless signal)
Can I fit a WIFI dongle into the USB port on the router and pick up the network that way ? If so which dongle should I buy ?
Failing that if I connect to the wireless network with my laptop can I somehow connect my router to the network via it ? Perhaps USB to USB or ethernet cable ?
PS I'm not very tech savvy in computers etc

Hi

Why do you want to use your router at the remote location ?
Do you want to connect several devices (laptop, smart phone etc) ?
do it separately without the router

A wireless N usb dongle is only needed if your laptop is old and has a old standard wireless card or wireless is broken. Or extremley rarely no built in wireless.

Obviously a wireless N usb dongle is usefull for a Desktop PC without a wireless PCI or PCI-e card

In any case if the location does not have a free wireless hot spot you will need permision to connect to the wireless network from its administrators and using your own router would complicate connection .
