So i'm going to start off by saying, I am very very computer illiterate. I know some things but I have tried to read other posts but they all fly over my head. So if you can dumb it down for me that would be amazing <3. So as the title says I just bought a 3tb and it's only recognizing 2tbs of it. And if you need anything from me pic wise just ask! 3TB Hard Drive only show 1.99TB in my computer.

You can only partition 2GB at a time. If you go into Control Panel > Administration Tools > Computer Management.
Click on Disk Management .
There should be a 1TB of unpartitioned space. Rightclick on it and partition it.

That is because 2TB is the limit with non-UEFI based BIOS. Pl provide your mobo info and windows info.

Sorry for late reply. Ok I've checked your mobo. It is UEFI enabled that would simply mean that you can use hard rives with capacities larger than 2TB. All that you need to do is the format your hard drive in GPT and ensure that your Windows is 64 bit.
