No signal when connected to my GPU(fans still spins on it) works fine on integrated graphics ONLY when GPU isn't connected

Yes I connected it to the GPU and like I mentioned in the titles the GPU has to be disconnected in order for my integrated graphics to work.
My GPU doesn't have a PCI-e slot(it only connects to the mobo no wires from the PSU)
I'm using a VGA to DVI converter.
First time builder I'm scared D:
Would anyone PLEASE help me out?

Motherboard - ASrock h81m-dgs http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81M-DGS/

Im assuming you meant you're using a dvi to vga adapter. There are 2 dvi ports on that card 1 dvi-d and 1 dvi-i. The dvi to vga adapter will only work on the dvi-i port which according to the pics is the yellow port so make sure that is the port you are using.

I'm using that port the adapter won't fit onto the other one. Thanks for the reply

I can't everyone in my family uses laptops and I used one too till I bought a new rig
