I am having my first custom made laptop built. I am somewhat ignorant about this stuff, but from searching the internet I have come up with this configuration to suit my needs. But I don't really know what I'm doing. I just want to make sure this will be enough for me and that I'm not missing anything. I will be using it for gaming (Skyrim, Crysis3, Civ 5 etc.) and doing work on it also. The work I will be doing isn't very demanding though. Mainly just some paperwork, documents and stuff. I will be storing some music and photos on it too. I do not anticipate any multitasking. Here is my computer so far:

Configuration

EON17-S
1920 x 1080 17.3" FHD LED Backlit Matte Display
Customizable Backlit Keyboard and Touchpad w/ Three Lighting Zones and Seven Color options
Single 4GB NVIDIA GTX 780M
ORIGIN Professional Graphics Card Overclocking
Intel Core i7 4800MQ Quad-Core 2.70GHz (3.70GHz TurboBoost), 6MB Cache
8GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz (2 X 4GB)
Genuine MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Edition
6X BD-R Slim Blu-ray Burner
CyberLink PowerDVD 13 Ultra
FREE 250GB Samsung 840 Evo Series
750GB SATA 3.0Gb/s, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache
Integrated High-Definition Audio powered by Sound Blaster XFi
Wi-Fi Link 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN w/ Bluetooth
SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Ports
Media Card Reader
Integrated Biometric Fingerprint Reader
Built-in 2.0 Megapixel Video Camera
Razer Ourobouros
Razer Manticor

My main questions are:

1. Are the 250GB SSD and 750GB HDD plenty good enough?

2. Are mSATA drives something I really need or could benefit from? The computer has 2 mSATA slots.

3. Is 8GB memory sufficient? I don't think I will be doing any multitasking.

4. Is the single 4GB NVIDIA GTX 780M plenty?

5. Is RAID something I should consider? From what I've read I don't know if it necessary for my needs.

I am very impatient so I do want to minimize startup and load times whenever possible. I'm trying not to pay for stuff I don't need and I don't want to overkill. But if I do need something else it is in my budget to do so. Btw, I do not know how to build my own from parts. Thanks for the help.

1. you should know we can't tell you how much space you'll need without details. it should be more than enough for the average pc user/gamer.
2. mSATA slots do have a higher potential speed, but if you will notice? i don't think so.
3. 8gb should be enough unless you are taking it to an extreme level, rendering and stuff.
4. that's one of the best you can get 0.o
5. you won't need RAID, it looks nice on paper but it won't come near those speeds more often than not.

solid build.

make sure it is sufficiently cooled because a laptop with these specs gets hot really hot.
