I know the price of the G19s is ridiculously high, but i like the extra bling like the LCD display and what not. I'm currently using the G15, but i spilled some coffee the other day and now the buttons are very hard to press, and this keyboard has been with me for a long time so i figure its time to finally upgrade! I see alot of good and bad reviews for the G19s but this question is for the people who actually own and use the G19s as a daily keyboard, and what are the differences compared to the old G19? are there any significant changes to it? And what other keyboards should i look into at? Thanks for your help guys!

I own a regular G19. The reason I bought it because it was $99 "damaged box" and I wanted a keyboard with a screen. I just had a look at the G19s. I don't see any significant difference between my G19 and the new G19s. Both are non-mechanical "membrane" keyboards with the same layout and keys. My G19 has the best "feel" of any non-mechanical keyboard that I have used. The screen is nice for monitoring temps. The adjustable color backlighting works nice and is nice and bright, except that having different colors is mostly just a gimmick. Apparently the new G19s has additional color options... meh.

For $199 the G19s is a total ripoff. If you have never tried a real mechanical keyboard then I would suggest you research the...

For $199 the G19s is a total ripoff. If you have never tried a real mechanical keyboard then I would suggest you research the different types of switches available and get a proper mechanical keyboard. A good mechanical keyboard can be had for about $100. I wouldn't bother with the G19s at that price. Go mechanical.

hey larkspur, thanks for your advice! yeah i thought about going mechanical but i prefer the soft and silent feel of the membrane keyboard, i don't like that most mechanical keyboards are bulky and not very "appealing". So for me i prefer membrane keyboards. So any suggestions for a good membrane keyboard?
