Dell XPS 8300

I am looking to change the MOBO in my Dell XPS 8300. It has a I7 2600 (NOT UNLOCKED) cpu. I was wondering if this board will do the trick?

While it will do what you want, it will also probably invalidate your OS, OEM's tie there OS to the motherboard & changing that usually kills it.

Thanks, I got a fresh copy of Windows 7 I bought that I have not used yet so there is no problem there.

A Micro ATX should fit, as long as the standoffs match.

Update - If anyone needs to change a MB in their XPS studio 8300 not unlocked I7 2600. The MSI B75MA works great. Installed mine last night along with SSD and new WDC green 1tb HDD having no problems with it.

However, I will mention I did not have a place to connect my front USB connections So I am unable to use them. Honestly not a big deal for me. I never really used them anyways.
