Hi guys!
I was wondering which headset i should get, when i want to buy the Asus Xonar Essence STX. I was thinking about the Astro A40 7.1. I've heard that the Xonar can't deliver the 7.1 surround output that I want from the Astros, and therefore i don't know wich headset that is the best with the Xonar soundcard. If you could come up with any headset recommendations, I would like if the price was about the same as the Astros.

Thank you guys!!

Yeah they are nice, but when I say "audiophile" grade sound quality, this means the best of the best sound quality.
Those headphones, though nice and not that grade of quality.

Something along the lines as Sennheiser HD 598s or 600's are audiophile grade, so are ATH-M50's from Audio Technica.

I personally would go for the Astros.

Now, this is also a recommendation if you are up for it. You could get some kick ass headphones that are 2 times as good quality as the astros for the price and get a cheap desk mic. ^^Thats what I would do but we all have our opinions.

Well, i would like if it was around the 160 Euros. I don't use a mic that much, so i don't really care for the quality of that.
Also, it have to be with a 3.5mm input to the headset, but I'm sure you already know that. :)

Well, I'll link you to what I went with.
Even though I had a $300 CAD budget, what I ended up with was way under it. Everything else over here was majorly overpriced.

These are only 80 Euro.

Then, I was replace those ear pads with the ones from the SRH - 840, because they are much more comfortable.

Plus a decent, affordable desktop mic: (this is just one I've been suggested, you can do your own research and buy whatever)
