Morning!

I've a serious issue, half the reason I wanted to upgrade this PC.
For the last few days it's been freezing pretty badly and it's during when it's used for basic things too, exploring the internet, gaming, word processing. So I reset the PC and now it's clearly reset one too many times.

It wants me to reinstall Windows, I've tried to to system restore and system repair neither work.

My question is, I have sensitive information on my C drive that I wish to keep without wiping. Can I remove that Hard Drive and put it in my other computer to get the information off?

Any help would be great, thanks.

Yes you are able to remove it from that computer place it in another and get the data off. Once installed in the other system it will just appear as an additional drive like any other.

Even if the C: Drive from the 'dead' pc is Windows 7 and the pc that it will go into is Windows 8?

Yep it will not matter or you could always place the other drive in an enclosure and turn it into an external drive connected by USB. Either way it will come up as an additional drive to the system once detected.
