I got a gtx 760 for Christmas and i installed it in my computer, with this ASUS GTX 760 OC II
i was trying out bf4 and i got maybe 40-70 fps on ultra and i am ok with that but when i play Far cry 3 on ultra i get maybe 10-25 fps and i do not know why.

My Specs

CPU : Intel i5-2320

GPU : ASUS GTX 760 OC II 2 GB

RAM : 8GB

PSU : 650W

Motherboard : GIGABYTE B75-D3H

HDD : 1TB

please help me find out why i get so low fps

Thanks.

Solution

the minimum FPS the human eye can view without causing strain is 47 fps.. if your dropping below that.. then your system just isnt up to playing games on ultra.. if your not getting a steady 60 or above.. Id lower some stuff.. But I know some people are allll about graphics lol. If your looking to play everygame 1080 with 60 fps n above.. I would save and upgrade your mobo and cpu.. FarCry is highly CPU dominate

Yes its safe and there are certain programs that can do this and you could find those easily

New mobo Id suggest doing a upgrade

Intel-Core i5 4670K + Asus Z87-A

brother.. Im sorry to break the news too ya.. Im the same way trying to push the limits on graphics... but no.. only way you can fix it is upgrading or lowering some graphics.. Im sure all High isnt bad looking... normal or medium is what a console would run so anything above that is better looking anyways lol .. I mean there might be a couple config file things you can do to take away some stuff that dont matter, could improve performance, skyrim is popular for it and people still get better performance with max graphics

if your looking to play at ULTRA... I would say yes.. but I would suggest turning down to high and seeing how it goes instead of spending all the $$.. Unless you have the budget for it.
