Hey TH-ers, I have a uATX tower and I was wondering if one of you could advise me on the feasibility of fitting a full size GPU such as the 770 or 780 in this tower. My current system has trouble handling Ghosts at normal quality settings, and its time to upgrade.

Here is a link to the original pc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883157204 the tower and the hard drive are all that is left of that computer.

These are the computer's current specs:

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M
Processor: Intel i7 3770
PSU: Thermaltake SMART 850w
RAM: 6 gb DDR3 @668.5 MHz (Samsung)
Audio Card: Asus Xonar STX
Video Card: GTS 450 1.5 GB OEM

I'm sure its painfully obvious where the bottleneck in my system is, but so far I haven't paid a cent for this computer; I've just picked up parts where I could find them for free. My main question is whether a full sized GPU like a 770 or 780 could fit in this computer (and if its advisable to do so due to thermal constraints)

Solution
t is hard with factory psu to tell the max graphic clearance. if you could get a tape measure and take the side panel off, then measure from the back expansion slot to the back of the hdd cage, you could always buy a new case too for around 50 to accomodate a large graphics card with good airflow, the thermals is really dependent on the card itself. some dont get as hot as others
