Internet problems far slower than normal

I have been having internet problems where now i download games from steam at a average of 500 kbs but before it was running at about 3.7 mbps and my ping has been going to about 100 from usually being 20-40 and it makes cs:go and Garry's mod impossible to play because of the lag this all happened after i tried overclocking my pc because i was prepping for thief to come out but my pc rejected the overclock because of the hp bios and now my internet is unbearable and when i open a new tab it take a few seconds to even figure out that i did that it would be very nice if i could get some help
P.S. i have a modem and router not a combo

Game pings and file downloads are not good ways to test your connection. Try plugging your PC directly into the modem with an ethernet cable (this will eliminate wifi and router issues as potential complications) and use www.speedtest.net to test your ping, upload speed, and download speed. Do the results look reasonable? If not, it might be a signal strength problem, and you may need to contact your ISP and get them to run tests from their end.

By the way, it would help people help you if you could use sentences. ;)

So i did pc speed test and my ping was 20ms and 5.55 dl speed but thats not true and i tried playing a game and even when my ping was low i still lagged alot.
