First Thank You for reading,

i5 2500k OC 4.1GHz
8 GiG
580 GTX

This started when I wanted to upgrade my GPU. I see the 760's and 780's are PCI 3.0 which my Mobo is not.

Would you just upgrade the Mobo ? Or just rebuild i7 4770 Haswell ?
I want the most bang for my buck but don't mind rebuilding either. I just don't like spending the money on a new CPU for a little performance upgrade.

"I see the 760's and 780's are PCI 3.0 which my Mobo is not." Doesn't matter 3.0 cards work just fine in 2.0 slots. While the 4670k is a little bit faster the performance increase is not worth the cost as the difference in games would be almost unnoticeable. The 2500k is still a very capable CPU especially when overclocked. I would just upgrade the GPU.

i agree, 3.0 cards work in 2.0 slots fine and aslong as its a full size x16slot even at pci-e 2.0 you wont notice the difference compared to pci-e 3.0 i believe its not even 1% difference, and your cpu is a monster, i would just upgrade the graphics for now as its much cheaper than rebuilding entire haswell. i would suggest a gtx 770/780 depending on budget
