Hi all,

I am planning to upgrade my gaming PC with the current specs:

FX 4100 Black edition

Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Motherboard

8GB Kingston Hyper X ram

500 GB hard drive Seagate ---This cannot be detected by my motherboard so I am not sure if I fried it when I tried to overclock it

GPU: 6970 Gigabyte windforce

PSU: 650W Antec

SSD: 120GB Kingston V300. currently only 30GB left after I finished installing all the drivers and windows updates and some games.

I am planning to either fix my old 500 gb hard drive or look for a new one. What else should I pick up in the mean time? I was thinking of changing my CPU to the eight core bulldozer but not sure if the performance is worth it.

Thanks!

FX Quad vs Quad+
I haven't really noticed a real performance boost in games I've tested.

Yes, the firts thing I would upgrade is that processor. Even going up to a FX-6300 would be an improvement, something like an 8320 would actually be a pretty significant improvement. Also, with a lot of new games, 500GB isn't too much storage any more, you may want to get a 1TB drive, Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200 RPM drives are $55-60 at the moment, so it's not costly.
