green screen when playing video

for some reason when ever I play a video on my computer it turns green not the whole screen just the video any suggestions?? please!

Hi,
It could be that you have "HARDWARE" decoding enabled but do not have the necessary hardware decoder.

Here's my recommendation:

1. Download and install K-Lite Standard version: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

2. During installation use the "SOFTWARE" decoding option.

*You can go into the new media player, WMPC-HC, and disable or enable these codecs:

1) open WMPC-HC
2) right-click-> Options-> "Internal Filters"
3) UNCHECK any of the "transform filters" to run in software mode (decoded by the CPU).

Other:
Software mode uses more CPU processing power so if your CPU is not adequate you'll get stutter.

AMD video may look crappy in hardware decoding mode. If so, either run in SOFTWARE or disable the advanced video...
