I bought a new cpu and motherboard today and now I can't get any power. Everything worked perfectly before installing these and the power supply is a month old and working fine. But I'm getting no lights on the motherboard.
setup:
- Corsair 850HX psu
- Intel Core i7 4770K (1150 socket)
- Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H motherboard
- 4 x 4GB Patriot G Series DDR3 1333
I have tried hooking up just the psu, motherboard, memory, and cpu fan only and nothing. The onboard power button doesn't turn on the machine and I don't even get the tower lights or fans to turn on. the heat sink on the cpu seems fine and no bent pins on the socket that i can see. The cpu and atx power plugs are connected. i dont think there is a short on the chassis as its the same size as my old motherboard and that board works fine. I can only think at this point the motherboard is bad brand new out of the box?
Any help would be much appreciated.
