I accidentally set my refresh rate too high and now my monitor doesn't come. When I boot the computer the windows 8 logo comes up but it blacks out Saying "refresh rate out of range"when i t comes up to the log on screen. I don't own a graphics card. I use intel hd graphics 2500.

Cant boot in the safe mode, nor can i restore since the display doesn't appear.

WHY can't you boot into Safe Mode?

It involves F8, or SHIFT+F8 depending on the method, but since you can't boot into Windows to change anything this is your only option aside from reinstalling Windows.

(Aside from borrowing a monitor compatible with the settings you have).

Anyway, Safe Mode will work you just need to get it started.

Other:
I've never had this issue because Windows has always automatically restored the previous display settings if I applied something incorrectly. With a non-VGA monitors it's rarely an issue as they usually don't show settings that don't work.
