How would you change the directories from your main C: drive to an alternate drive? For example, I have my OS installed on an ssd and also have a hdd, but want to put all of the main directories on the hdd, how would I do that?

Solution
Right click any of those folders and choose Properties. After that choose Location and you can change where that folder resides (example: change "C:\Users\(your name)\My Videos" to "D:\My Videos").

Would that also work for the program files? And will this make the drive the main drive? If that makes any sense at all lol

Program files will have to be reinstalled. During the initial installation you'll be given a choice of where to install the program - obviously make sure you choose to install to the HDD.

No, doing all of this won't have the storage drive the main drive. The main drive will always be the one with the OS on it.

Ok thanks, but if you install everything on the storage drive then will somehow act as the main drive?

Wrong. It doesn't matter what's installed on the storage drive. As long as the storage drive DOESN'T HAVE THE OS ON IT, it's not going to be the "main" drive.

My definition of "main" drive is the drive that will allow the computer to boot. If you don't have the "main" drive connected, and let's say you only had the storage drive connected, the computer will not boot because the storage drive won't have the OS installed.

The programs don't determine whether the drive is the "main" drive or not, it's the drive with an OS on it.
