Hey guys,

I want to reformat my PC and install WIndows XP x64 with AHCI mode on

Is there another way of doing it besides slipstreaming the AHCI drivers with nLite ?

Like using a Floppy USB ?

Also I'm not sure about which drivers I should be using ?

windows xp 64bit was about the buggiest operating system of its day.drivers were hard,if not downright impossible to find then.think how hard they will be to find now.unless you are installing it on old hardware, and by old hardware i mean xp stuff, you will not be happy with the result.even if you get it to install and work, support runs out in april.sorry man,but xp has had its day.

You should be able to BOOT to the necessary drivers as needed provided your motherboard:
a) supports AHCI
b) supports booting from DVD or USB
c) the BIOS is configured with the DVD or USB drive first in the Boot Order, and
d) You have the proper drivers

I can't speak for the reliability of 64-bit XP, though my advice is to get Windows 8.1 64-bit OEM ($90) as well as Start8.

If you aren't also aware, XP will be increasingly prone to getting malware so you should not have any sensitive info on it or even do anything on the internet that could be monitored with Key Logging software.

A good antivirus software will NOT get around an exploit that Microsoft no longer closes.
