I have tried every fix I can think of. Computer worked yesterday, today only boots to logo. Will not boot windows 7 install disk, tried to boot from usb iso, tried every fix. Have had this computer for many years.
Dodgy RAM stick maybe? Take them all out and just put one in, turn on and if it hangs again the take the stick back out and put a different one in, try them all. A bit time consuming but it may work.
If I try to repair the screen just goes black after files loaded, if I say start windows normally it gets stuck on logo with Starting Windows. Will not load install disk, thought maybe a virus. So put virus scanner iso on disk then usb drive. No luck, can not get it to boot off either.
I wouldn't say its a virus issue since you can't get it to boot from an external device, it hasn't initiated a data flow from the HDD apart from its serial number and info about it, that being where the virus would be stored.
Have you fiddeled with the BIOS configuration at all? As that could have something to do with it.

I did not mess with the BIOS prior to the problem. Only thing I have done since is change boot devices in the hopes to force it to boot the cd or usb, but that does not work.
reset your bios via jumper cables and/or hold in the powerbutton while the psu is switched off for 30 seconds, make sure your sata controller is set to ide
Have u tried to open in safe mode (press f8 repeatedly while booting up (before the logo appears)) and while in safe mode uninstalling the graphics driver (right click on my computer and go to manage and then to device manager go down to display adapters while in menu click driver tab and uninstall - http://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-Graphics-Drivers).
