Hello I recently installed a cool master hyper 212 evo on my 3570k. The temps were quite bad to start with 27 idle 50 Aida64(No oc) 4.2Ghz oc had it at low 40s and low 70s with aida64. 4.4ghz had it at 50 idle and 81 with aida64. I thought I may have put too much articsilver on so I went to removal the cool master. When I unscrewed the screws 1 of the retention plate screws came out of the standoff, but the other 3 standoff bolts came out with the retention plate(The bolts fell off apparently) and now I can't unscrew the retention plate screws from the standoff.

To add insult to injury my cpu is pretty bad at Ocing and requires high voltages for simple Oc's. 1.28 for a 4.2ghz 1.3 for a 4.4ghz.
--------------
Anyways I don't have any pliers lying around so I can't get a good enough grip on the retention plate screw to hold it when I try to twist the stand off bolt or vice-versa. I may have stripped the either because I did apply a bit of force. So I am stuck using the stock cooler and waste another pasting of the cpu :(

Thanks for your help.

It seemed quite high compared to what I've seen others get, especially on higher OC's. 4.4ghz and 81 degrees with aida64 seems really high.

Its not connected to the board any longer. The stand offs came off with the X bracket when I unscrewed the one retention screw where the standoff stayed connected to the mobo. I replaced everything dealing with the CM 212 with the stock intel cooler for now, until I can unscrew the retention bracket from the stand off bolts. The nuts either weren't holding 3 of the standoffs securely in place enough or the force from the retention bracket being relieved of the pressure cause the force to be great enough to dismount the nuts. Either way the board works fine.
