I built a fairly fast machine last year to take on some side VFX work at home, and I've been wondering for a while about how I should set up my hard drives.

Current storage setup is:

1) 250gb SSD (system/programs)
2) 250gb SSD (cache drive)
3) 2x 1TB WD Caviar Black (setup as a mirrored RAID) for any live projects I'm working on.
4) Random slews of external storage for archiving work.

I'd also like to figure out a good system for storing my stock footage that I use in my work. It should be on its own separate drive, and it should be made redundant. At this point, I'm sort of running out of space inside my tower for this. Should I think about some sort of NAS with a couple 3TB drives inside it?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

A minimum of a dual drive NAS with a couple of 3TB WD RED in Raid-1 will be a good start, I prefer Synology NAS's.
