Hello community, Im new here and this is my first post!

I have a little trouble with my cpu and I didnt quite find what im looking for so thats why Im asking.

I am constantly having my computer freeze over during rough gaming, the problem occurs only when playing Crysis3, (have done once or twice with bf4 but not anymore for a long time.) with crysis3 its more like a rule to freeze every now and then.

Im running FX-8350 with undervolt to 1.2v from 1.4v and the turbo (4.2ghz) taken off.
Did this mainly because of high temps what I got (reduced temps by 20celcius for me.)
Corsair 600w psu modular.
R9 270X toxic
Asrock 970 pro3
8gb ram

dump file tells me that its hardware issue (0x124) and more precisely L1 cache error.

While im writing this it starts to seem obvious that the undervolting could be the cause and reseting to factory defaults will be my next thing to try, but lets assume it wont help.
the motherboard supports tdp up to 130w and the cpu is 125w, my northbridge is pretty hot to the touch all the time.

Cooling of the computer should be ok since I have coldair intake and hot air exhaust fans, cpu's heatsink is not stock, temperatures are around 50c with cpu and gpu durning heavy load. also freezes while side plate of the case is taken off.

All the parts are new, less than month old.

And again, only does this durning crysis3. (once or twice with bf4 but not for a long time now)
When freezes the screen goes red and have to manually restart. (power button works for it).

Thank you in advance!

Solution
Try adding a little more voltage back in?

I doubt its any of the vrms on the mobo as you are not running it too high, plus the temps sound fine.

Instead of going back to factory defaults, I addded 0.08V for the cpu so the max voltage now is 1.28V(bios). CPUZ in the other hand shows me that max voltage now is 1.312V. Anyways, No i did not run a stress test (I wonder why I didnt) with the earlier 1.2V. So far I have not had a single crash with the 1.28V.. looking good... Will run a stress test later today and come back to tell about the results I have found.

Ran occt for an hour without errors at all. Absolute max cpu temp was 67 now with the 1.28v After that I did some more research with crysis3 (I swear, only research purposes :D) and didnt get no red screens or freezes. Nice.

To anybode out there with FX-8350... 1.3v is a very good choice with the stock clocks, uses less money trough electric bill and runs cooler without losing power and speed!
