Voltage and Clock errors

The voltage and clock speeds of my cpu and motherboard are varying by about .025 In essence a cpu that should be volted at 1.45v and clocked at 3400mhz reads 1.472v and 3422mhz. I am aware a slight variation is normal but this is obviously much more than that. Is this a problem with the VRM on the board or something wrong with the PSU possibly? Is this causing stress on my other parts since everything is being erratically slightly over-volted by the board?

also known as Vdroop. Its the difference between idle and load voltages. For example, if your chip needs can take a voltage range of 1.35v - 1.55v, you might find that your idle voltage is around 1.50v. When you put it under full load, it'd drop to 1.47v. That's vDroop. Its normal, and as long as there's no inherent instability with your system your fine.

Ahh yes, I have a vague notion of vDroop. But I guess i probably should have mentioned that it is varrying in the other direction, everything is slightly overlcocked and overvolted so to speak. It seems to be quite more than just margin of error as well. sometimes it spikes to +.55 of an overvolt on the vcore.

have you got the voltages set on auto? If so , it's worth trying to set them manually, as it will stop the overvolting.

Yeah, i've set them somewhere close to what they should be for the moment. I was just wondering if there was a blatantly obvious answer like a faulty MB or something that i was missing.
