so i was using Final Fantasy a realm reborn as a benchmarking tool..so it starts the benchmark and as its going i notice that my GTX770 says 4GB but i remember when i bought it i got a 2 gb card not a 4. So i deceided to check the card and sure enough this card also uses 2gb of shared memory along side the 2gb decicated never said anything on the box about it. So does it mean the card after 2 gig will use my system memory and is there a way i can change it to always use the 2gig of system memory. I have windows 8.1

Your GPU cannot convert System Ram to V-Ram. The benchmark tool over-calculated. I get this problem with them too. I've gone to websites that check your system spec to make sure hey work with games and they say my 770 Classified 4gb has 512mb of ram. it happens.

I have an evga gtx 770 and final fantasy wasnt the only place i saw that cause even windows 8.1 sees it like that says memory 2048MB and then says shared mem 2048MB total 4gig which is really strange I can post a pic of it after work.

well got some sort of answer from Nvidia:
"Sanjib: The Memory shared in Windows 7 or 8 OS is handled by the Operating system itself. By default we cannot change it.
Sanjib: The dedicated VRAM is 2048 MB,
Sanjib: However, the shared memory with WIndows is 2048 more."

thats interesting...so technically its like a 4 gig card lol
