Hi, so I just bought a used laptop the hp elitebook 8540p the laptop is great like new no exterior damage from what I can tell. But the only problem is, when I move the screen on it, it will get a yellow tint or sepia look. If I leave it at a certain degree it will keep this tint until I move it again. I was wondering if it was like a connection loose or something somewhere in the laptop I could just fix my self. Thanks for any help!

I hope I described it well enough.

Laptop Specs-
Intel i7 620m 2.6
Nvidia NVS 5100m
8gb Ram
120gb SSD

Solution
The ribbon cable which connects to the screen may be bad. Usually the effect you are seeing is caused by a bad ribbon cable. It is not expensive about $12.00 US. Its replacement requires removal of the keyboard and dis-assembly of the of the display.
